Minoo Island or Minu Island is an Iranian island in the Khuzestan province (located in Persian Gulf), in southwestern Iran and is close to the cities of Abadan and Khoramshahr. The island is located 10 km from the city of Khoramshahr.
The city of Minushahr is on the island. It is a small city with a population of 12 thousand people. This city is considered a resort for the people living in the cities of Abadan and Khoramshahr.
Agriculture and animal husbandry is very important in this island and almost 45 percent of the people are farmers. This island is one of the few places in the world in which irrigation is done naturally by the sea water's tide, so there is no need to mechanical irrigation systems. This island is covered by palm trees and this provides a good environment for migratory birds.
